On an effiecient turbo 400 combo, What would be a good rpm drop between shifts?
On a datalog shifting at 6600, it would drop to 6000.
But shifting at 6400 netted the same 6000,

Seems as thought the convertor is too loose i think.

In using about 7 different converters in the last 3 years, i have found about 500-700 rpm drop to be acceptable. My ATI currently drops about 600 rpm depending on boost and shift point.

Whatu have to make sure of is that you get that drop at what ever boost level its actually going torun at. I had a converter that droped 900 rpm at 18 psi. Wouldnt drop any at 27 psi.

Have you calculated the top end slip at the end of the 1/4?

This is exactly what was happening with my old convertor, At 18#s it would drop 600-700 and the car felt good, at 26#s it rips right to 6500 and drops to 6250 or so, I put one in last night that drops from 6600-6000 at 26#s,but if shifted at 6300 it drop to 6000 also, I find its still too loose, but maybe acceptable if i cshift 6600 or above, Paul Thompson is sending me a converotr he had to try out.
THanks for the Reply Louie

Also i have not made a pass with the convertor from last night, just with the one that was dropping only 200-300 rpm

If the weather is gonna hold out,I heard it was supposed to rain till the weekend.
Ill be down in Jersey tomorrow, Mufflex is doing the exhaust on my car,THen i have to get this damn convertor thing figured out.If i also dont get this transbrake probelm squared away I may just scrap it and put in one of yours. I am just not sure if its the convertor and not the brake thats the problem.WHen i launch at 18#s it goes instantly to 30 upon realease and i think its just runnign over the convertor
Well keep out eyes on the weather for Fri.
