Satillite TV Decision time...

I've been a happy subscriber to Dishnet for four years (occasionally pi$$ed at their customer service though).

I want to have two or more of those Tivo type satellite boxes (already have one DishNet 501 PVR that we enjoy a lot).

The programming offered by the two companies is essentially the same as far as I'm concerned (they both have Speed channel ).

Questions:
1) Will I do better as a new customer to Direct TV, or, by buying and adding another PVR or two to my current account with Dishnet?
2) Does the dishnet 721 PVR cost more each month for the "programming" than a 501 or 508 box?
3) How hard is it to add a larger HDD to the 501 to upgrade its storage capacity?
4) Can I expect the "incentives" for new Direct TV customers to get better in the near future and at Christmas time?

If I were you,I would give Dish a call,Tell them Exactly what you are looking to do equiptment wise.Ask them about upgrading your your 501 to a 508...Also,It depends on what type of LNB you have on your dish now,Say for example,You have a twin or dual up there...To go to a 3Rd or 4th receiver,Would require a LNB change...To a Quad,Or a 64 switch...Which you Definately dont want..(The 64)..But they want to charge you for either of those...And they arent cheap...But I can hook you up if you need any extra Equiptment,Switches,LNB's(No receivers though).For the Legacy or DishPro systems.

And to answer your questions...

1)..Depends..On equiptment you already have...If you get a nice sales rep on the phone when you call ;^)
2)..The 721 I believe costs the same as far as programming goes..Its been a little while since Ive been Involved with Dish.
3)..Ive heard from diffrent people conflicting stories on this...Ive been told it was easy...And a total disaster...Something about it needing to be a certain HD...I can find out for sure though on that.
4)I would Believe there would be some pretty good Incentives from Both companys in the upcoming weeks...There are usually some pretty good options as far as upgrading..Especially since you have been a long time customer..
