AHHH lets try this again:), i have a SLIPPING, OR HESITATION PROBLEM AFTER USING THIS CHIP, WHAT HAPPENED! ok heres where the chip came from, its a jay carter 100 octane chip, the chip originally in the car has a blue...i think.. sticker on it, thats it, anyhow when i put the jay carter in my car and FLOOR it, makes a JERKING feeling like 3 or 4 times, before FINALLY shifting into gear, like catching and SLIPPING catching and SLIPPING, its hard to describe but it FEELS absolutely HORRIBLE!! I am unsure what is causing it but when i swapped the chip back its not even CLOSE to before but feels like a slipping feeling sometimes....the convertor has a nine on it and i have no DAMNED clew where it came from, had it on the car when bought, when i bought the car it was painted BLUE, i am HOPING and praying it has something to do with the convertor, ANY THOUGHTS?? I really want to get rid of this convertor because i just bolted a pte-53 into my car and now LAG....also got the chip in the same time frame...could it be the convertor causing this, Please say yes and that ordering another one it will solve my problems, did it before with a stock turbo and 100 octane chip...

sounds like..

the band wont apply correctly. Is it only on the 1-2 gearchange or on 2-3 and 3-4 too.?

i notice it on the 1-2-3...and the fourth im not sure because i am NOT going to lay into the gas any more, not until i know for sure what it is, 2-3 is ABSOLUTELY the worst i have ever felt, when i was getting on the free way with that chip, i layed into it, ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR, downshifted and felt like it would not CATCH at all actually caused me to lean FORWARD, then catch and slip catch and slip and FINALLY get into gear happens also if slowly boosting and when it hits around 8 psi and is about to shift slips catches slips catches...if i really lay into it well it is ten times worse than anything i can type, all of it happened from that chip, never had any slipping like this before, at times i was over 21 psi with a stock turbo...i know Nothing about automatics, other than what i read here, if you would like ill go try tomorrow and tell you EXACTLY what it does but im afraid something will break, i have changed the fluid TWICE, no change if that chip is in there, when i switch back, feels ALOT better but it just will not CATCH, have to let off the gas a little and BAM pops in gear...

Also the tranny was SUPPOSEBLY rebuilt around a year ago, worked PERFECT up till this, it is COMLETELY repainted and the stall convertor was perfectly blue when i bought it...i am unsure who rebuilt it but just trying to get details in, i only have like a month left and i am out of the navy and going to college...so basically hoping i can do the work myself...if not its going to be driven like a baby and brought to tennessee until i can save every nickel and dime and get it PROFEESSIONALLY REPAIRED!!

The chip has nothing to do with the transmission line pressure or shift points. If you started experiencing this problem after the chip install and it only happens at WOT, I'd guess that the chip is programmed for full-throttle TCC lock-up and the converter doesn't like it.

You can do one of two things to test my theory on this. Either put your previous chip back in or unplug the four-terminal connector from the side of the transmission temporarily and go for a test drive.

Let us know what happens then.

Raining like crazy today, ill get back with the results TOMORROW...

Unhooked connector, seemed to take LONGER until it happened but could be coincidence, seems to catch slip catch slip catch and finally catch and go into gear...its a HORRIBLE feeling, anyhow unsure where to go now and is it possible i could repair this and how? Happens when boost and hpower are max, seems to happen at shifts, when you let off for a sec pops into gear...
