Scanmaster/adlm issues

I have a scanmaster 2.1. Everything seems to be working fine until I stab the throttle and when I let off after about 2_3 seconds the scanmaster reads --- ---. Then another few seconds it picks back up the ecm readings. Also I had a friend with turbometer software and when I plug his computer in the car goes dead. It will crank back up but when I hit wot it stops recording. Kinda frustrating since I lose the scanmaster recordings during a run. Driving normally it seems to work fine. Any ideas?

Update. I had a loose ground on the engine. Also I installed a powerlogger and updated tje scanmaster the issue seamed to go away for now.
