how accurate is the scanmaster on values of mph/coolant/voltage?
i dont want to install aftermarket gauges if the scanmaster is close,,thanks

scanmaster is more accurate then aftermarket gauges, generally. I know my VDO gauge is about 12 degrees higher then the scanmaster and I was told this is the norm..

Scan Temp

Hmmm. My Scanmaster is 12-16 degrees warmer than my VDO Water Gauge... Which one is correct??? I am confused now!!

I take the autometer cooling temp from an existing tap on the lower side of the block. The scanmaster reads from the stock computer sensor up top. Sooo my thinking is the ecm/scanmaster is reading the 'cooled' temp of the water as it enters the engine. The autometer guage is reading from the lower block, which is the water temp that has been 'heated' frompasing through the motor. So each gauge is reading correctly, and at different points along the water path.

Seems to make sense, based on where the sending units are reading. So you are actually getting the two different data points on water temp, which I think is good.

......now......I sure would like to hear if I wrong in this logic.
