Do those instructions work 100% with a GN? Mainly the part about "Pin E"? I have my power and ground locations, I just don't know where I should put the white wire into the ALDL.

Yep! That's the way I have installed all the Scanmasters that I have ever done!

The instructions are a little ambiguous regarding Pin E. Pin E appears to be the 2nd pin from the end. Which is it, the top or the bottom hole? And as you're looking at the ALDL, which is it - the second on the right or the second on the left?
