I read the instructions for the scanmaster finally. It says that the O2 suppose to be at around ~750mv or higher! Does this suppose stay around that or does this jump up and down under 750? Also i am showing knock retard coming out of first gear the highest was around 9 but goes right back down is this normal? It read 0 knock at idle but when i put it at wot out of first the knock reading goes up

Must made it hard to understand what im sayin. But whats the highest or should i say safest amount of knock retard? it goes up when i put the peddle to the floor and when it switches gears?

When boosting the number should stay pretty consistent. 780-800 is good on street fuel.

When cruising, the number will jump around allot. Thats perfectly normal.

O ok good on that part then. So what about the knock retard? Its normal to go up some numbers just as long as it drop back down its fine? or does it suppose to stay at 0 at all times, mine went as high as 10.7 but dropped back down after switching gears...

The safest amount of knock is 0. If it is knocking, it is detonating probably. Detonation combined with boost blows head gaskets out or worse motors apart.

1 or 2 degrees of knock is somewhat common at the shifts due to a change in engine load.

Sounds like you may need to back the boost down or find better gas. If you have alcohol injection, you will need to spray enough alcohol to make the knock go away.

Good luck,

One more thinng I didn't get the alky programmed on my chip. So will the ally kit still work fine?

It will prolly be rich. Trim fuel accordingly. You can run more timing now too. So if your chip is adjustable, you have some stuff to play with.

OK I have a tt chip but I remember it had the option if I had alky or not so I put n/a. So when I apply the alky I have to turn the fuel pressure down? I know the instructions cone with the alky kit but just trying to get an idea on How everything work as far as tuning!

I would get a new chip from TT burned for Alky. The fuel pressure with a TT chip is 43 line off. This way you know the chip is right and no messing around guessing on fuel pressure. Take care. Brad

With the TT chip...

With eric's chip you can take fuel out electronically instead of with fuel pressure. You need a scan tool, and a working tps and you can adjust fuel that way. I have a regular TT (non-alky) chip and I just take some fuel out and bump timing up a little and it seems to be alright.

I agree an alky chip would be better, but his chips are very adjustable and it can run pretty good with what you got.

Just remember baby steps... dont take 10% fuel out and bump timing up 5 degrees all at once. Doing that might have you looking for a wrecker.

good luck,

Jerry jr.

I got word from eric from TT and he said "You can use the street chip with alcohol. The amount of WOT fuel in the street chip is about right for around 22-25psi boost with the alcohol on. If you can't get the boost up high enough, then we might have to reburn the chip." Now my question is how to do you know how much boost your running? I know a pound is from a full turn on the wastegate so do i take it all off and turn it 360 degrees and count it that way or is it a device that i can purchase to tell me?

I installed an aftermarket boost gauge. My powerlgger tracks boost as well. The dash light only goes up to 15 pound boost and is not very accurate. Brad

OK I have one to with he vacuum and boost trading. So When the cars running it reads 10 one the vacuum side. So your saying when I push the pedal to yhr floor it reads about 5 boost so this means I'm running about 15#s of boost?

The gauge you have reads boost when thw turbocharger is under load. This happens while driving your car and you floor it the gauge will read boost. 5= 5lbs boost. This is between 0 and 20 lbs boost. The other way is put the car in drive, hold the brake down and rev up the engine. You should be able to get to 3-5 lbs boost before the brakes let loose. Good luck. Brad

OK so the one u have reads the boost when the turbocharger isn't u under load? So when u adjust it it shows on the gauge. If so where can I purchase one of those at?
