Is the scanmaster really worth it? Can it tell me fuel pressure? And is it hard to install?

If your going to get at all serious about tuning then you'll need it.

For some they think tuning by watching O2 volts is the way to go, and in that arena, you really want that or a scanner/datalogger.

Personally, I have it and run it full time because I'm always twaeking on the chip.

I will tell you that without a scan tool of some sort, you'll have a hard time getting your car to run correctly, & you're basically shooting in the dark when diagnosing problems.

A scan tool (scanmaster, turbolink, otc moniter, ect.) is by far the best investment you'll make in my opinion. Good luck:)

It allows you to set TPS and IACV easily which is great for correcting idling and low speed drivability.

Takes the place of 2 gauges until you decide what setup you want. You get volts and water temperature at the press of a button.

O2's and KR on the front screen which are both very important and stored high values at WOT.

BLM's and INT for tuning chips, MAF setups etc.

Great tool for a car new to you.

No. It can't tell you oil pressure or boost pressure either.

But it can tell you a lot: TPS, MAF, IAC, Coolant Temp, RPM, INT, BLM, KR, O2 volts, Malfunction Codes and in some versions O2 cross counts and injector PW I think.

A scan tool isn't a luxury, it's required to properly tune your Turbo Buick.

in one word, YES, its worth every penny. It tells you what you need to know about your engine, most importantly knock..which is what kills these engines soooo easily
