Scanmaster2

I am new to the GN world but have already realized I should not have gotten an 85, I have made suddle changes and am told the only way to tune these cars is with a scan tool, I have found that the scan master two is the only one that will work with the 85 ecm. I plan to upgrade to the 87 at some point, But for know has anyone had any experiance with this one and is it a good item to purchase or should I wait till the 87 upgrade?

The scanmaster2 does NOT work with the 85 ECM. With the 85ecm you need a laptop with turbo link. The scanmasters are designed for use with 86-87 TR. The only way for you to use a scanmaster on your car is to convert to an 86-87 ECM. You can find info on doing an ECM swap at gnttype.org.

BTW, I have a scanmaster and I enjoy it. Its great because it ALWAYS there, unlike laptop operated scan tools.

the ecm swap is really easy.i'd go ahead and do it and buy a scanmaster.

I was told by postons that the scan master "2" would work on the 85 ecm, But if you guys tell me no then thats what I am going with You have'nt done me wrong yet.
So I guess I need to do the 87 swap this winter tell I should just do the whole dam'n set up.
