I was curious has anyone converted their hot air car over to run all of the cold air's accessories to gain the serpentine set-up as well as the higher amperage alternator. I'm considering doing this and just looking for a little insight. Thanks

if you are just looking for the high amp alternator, then you don't need to swap over to the intercooled setup. just swap in a CS alternator and use your stock pulley and belt.

you can get an alternator bracket off a 231 powered full size car with the HD alternator and run the big 140 amp CS alternator, or you can do what i did..

this is a pic of mine back in '05 or so when i first swapped it in. the alternator was an extra that came with an '89 Grand Prix with a 2.8 that has the offset mounting points- if i'm remembering correctly, it's rated at 120 amps. i made a simple adapter strap for the small mounting bolt out of some 1/4" steel, swapped on the V belt pulley, and hooked it up with a plug i bought at NAPA. i swapped this alt in because i thought my stock alternator was junk and i had this one laying around.. turns out that my alternator problems were caused by a bad connection in the dash, but i kept the stronger alternator in because it's just flat out better.

I thought of doing this, since I already had the IC accessory bracket from doing an HA-to-IC conversion, but the placement of the accessories would seem to interfere with certain things, like the air intake, coil pack, etc. Basically everything is flip-flopped from one side to the other.

Although, when you think about it, with the IC accessories, you could take advantage of aftermarket IC headers; just fab an up-pipe to the turbo (or for that matter, bolt on any IC turbo in the 86-87 location and fab a custom cold side up-pipe; or, since you're going that far, why not just plop on an intercooler... Ahh, nevermind. )
