Did they ever announce out of the show car's who went down the track who won? I couldn't get an answer, but would like to know if anyone has the information. :)

I'm sure it was one of the usual racers that won, but don't know for sure. I thought it was a cool thing to do, but somewhat dangerous as a lot of them had no idea what thet were doing on the track - a crash course in drag racing was needed by most. I saw a lady in a GNX over-stage, back up as instructed, then left it in reverse - thankfully, she didn't stomp on it and take out the car in the burnout box. Also, thought it was funny how fast a lot of them thought their cars were, by their dial-in - several ran 1.5 - 2 seconds slower than their dial.

Hey, I tried to explain to those that wanted to listen and the dial ins that were way off, you should of seen their builds. The one guy has a lot of issues. He dialed a 12.8 and ran a 13. something and should of been low 11's. I did try to help those that had never raced with questions and answers, but a driver's explanation would have been in order to make this more fun. I know some didn't even know where the 1/4 mile marker was. Besides this is no different then a lot of the folks who only drag at the Nationals every year..LOL I was just curious why they never announced who won or took second. Figures.... ;)

Give the show guys a break.
I've crewed for a funny car for years but honestly, I'd have little idea what to do if I was driving...
Soon, I will learn. But I have no idea what my dial in would be...somewhere between high 10s and low 15s :D

Same type of things could be said about the racers: "Did you see the paint on that race car? - awful, but he thinks it's great.,..his interior sucks too"

The cars are focused on different things.

I think the show car challenge was a great idea..

I think those who did part take and had never raced may have been bitten a little cause I know a couple of them talked about trying to get better times. It was a great idea and if they do this next year I think a general going over what to expect would be great. I know someone walked down the lane just before we started and asked if anyone had any questions or issues. It's a new idea and one that I think should stick around.
