So this is the next issue with the Eagle crankshaft, my TC does not fit :(

Any converters that do not have a long wide snout protruding towards the crank?

Well I cant say for sure because I have not pulled it all the way apart - just loosened the trans-engine block bolts to relieve the pressure, but the only thing I believe it could be is the snout binding on the crank

pull the trans and fit the converter to the crank/flywheel.is it the same converter you previously were using?

Hi Chris:
Thanks for the help!

I will pull the trans today and try to figure it out. Maybe it is not too big that it can be sanded down a bit.

Yes, it is the same converter that I have been using for about 15K miles; got it in the mid/late 90's

not really sure, was dealing with Eastern Performance and their trans shop JG Transmissions and I have very good reason to not believe anything they said. But the unit they said they used was a Pats Converter.

You said Eagle crank. Is it a new setup? Check the dia. of the hole in the crank to make sure it's right.

Dont know if this could be your problem or not but a friend of mine in the last week had same problem with a converter going into a powerglide to a 351W..couldnt & wouldnt fit..I told him he probably had the wrong converter..he took it upon himself to check it out..he saned the snout end of the converter a lil..it had paint on it & after that it fit fine & no problems..hope its that easy for you but may not be..

that was it National.

IT FITS! IT FITS! :)
My crank measured 1.704" and about 0.700 deep

There was a rust bubble under the paint/powder coat. A bit of sanding and it fits like a glove.

I was going crazy because I can't believe I missed something like that, but this operation has been going on for so long that the paint on the converter started to give way, probably where I let it slide on the concrete when moving it around.
