I was getting an intermitent pop/fall on it's face problem when stepping on it, usually from a roll. Brought it to my local mechanic and had him check out all the usual suspects. Coil tested good and all the grounds and such were fine. Gave him a cam sensor to put in since mine has had tons of play since I bought the car almost six years ago. It made a decent amount of noise and when you placed your hand on it you could feel it move with the whining noise. He changed it before doing any road testing. Anyway he found no signs of the pop/miss problem.

Well I've been beating on the car since I got it back and part of the good news is it has been running strong since. No problems whatsoever.

Finallyt made a few blasts tonight with the EGT hooked up. I'm running 25#s of boost all the way into 4th gear with no knock. Car feels awsome. The funny thing I found was the EGT's are pretty low. 1300 on one run. Turned the gain knob down to about 11:30 on the PAC kit and it went to maybe 1330. BTW this is with an Eric Marshall chip (alky) with about 44#s of fuel pressure. Looks like I'm going to have to take some fuel out which I've never had to do with a chip before. The car runs great now, but I know it's fat still.

Not sure exactly what the point of this thread is, but I guess if you're fighting a miss problem don't rule out the cam sensor. Feel free to post any similar situations or if you have any thoughts on the subject. Prior to this my EGT's were around 1500 without any other real changes.

Thanks for listening to me ramble.

What are your O2 readings now? If theyre the same and the EGT reads lower.. I would suspect an issue with your EGT meter/probe. Change batteries on it.

I only say this becuase I have never seen 1300's on an EGT with our cars if the probe is mounted pre-turbo. just an FYI

Very good point. Seemed too good to be true. I will do that before I make any more test runs. I wasn't aware that a low battery could affect readings like that. BTW it is one of the units RJC sells, for anyone else that may have one.
