I have a new set of south side machine bars that I am about to install. I have heard that they have a tendency to elongate the front mounting holes and screw up the mount to unrepairable condition. Has anyone experienced this. Would the HR frame braces help any?

I had a set on my 72 GS for 1½ yrs with no problems.... they were very hard miles too:D 12:1 455, 4.10posi... high 11's... daily driver, they saw frequent abuse... including many 30mph sidways launches.

Absolutley no issues... I'd like a set for my car now, but can't seem to find any when I've got cash to spend:rolleyes:

If they have the relocation brackets that change the instant center, then yes, you can probably look forward to cracking the frame mounts unless you reinforce them. They DO help with hooking up. I ran 1.53 60-foots with them.

HR Parts sells a gusset kit.
