hey guys got a used spearco kit and i finally got the kit on and now when I start my car it will rev to 4,000rpms and then die.

I can keep the car running but it will not stay at a steady rpm and as soon as I let off the gas it will die ,I hear a click near the turbo or wastgate and then the car will rev up smooth and drop back down and I will have to give it gas to stay running and as soon as it clicks my car will rev up again. When the car is about to die there is like 0 vac/press. and when it clicks the boost gauage jumps around .what could this be I really want to get my car out to the track any help would be appreciated.

Is everything hooked up like intercooler plumbing, TPS, IAC, MAF, adaptors. Is the compressor housing tight with all the bolts in it? It sounds like a big vacuum leak.

I actually had to use flex tub/exgaust to make the last two pipes to the intercooler becouse they were cut to ship and were missing about six inches and i know the stuff I used is not sealed at all I just wanted to get it to the exgaust shop so they could make the pipes for me ?? thanks I never thought of that for some reason

Sounds like either a vacuum leak or a leak in your intercooler piping. If your using flex pipe that is probably your probelm...

That sounds like yer problem right there man. Because the TB runs off the compressor side of the turbo, all the plumbing would have to be good and tight/sealed, or it will cause a major leak and cause improper idling. I had the same problem with my turbo adapter seal went out. Car ran like total S#$@

85 TR?? Did you ever figure this out? I am having the same problem. Yet all my tubing is on good!!! And my vac is pulling 20psi.so I don't think it is a leak.........I am also smoking from the turbo inlet pip and from around the turbo which I don't know what it could be. Need help!!!!!

No not yet and im getting real pissed, I cant find a shop to do the work for me and spearco hasnt replyed to my e-mails I am totally pissed and hope it is my pipes if you figure out your problem please let me know what it was and if my car dosntrun after the pipes Ill let you now how im doing

Ok sounds good. Yeah I am geting real pissed to, it will not stay running and keeps stalling. I don't know why the vacuum setup is difrent when you install it.

You have to keep calling Spearco and keep calling them, it took my 3 cals and a week before they would send me the instructions for it. I also wanted to order new silcone connections and they sent me the parts list to pick from.

I called Turbonetics when I needed a piece for mine. I got through the first time and I got the part (manifold adaptor) two days later.

I had the stalling problem and after verifying everything was ok I moved the TB to the pressure side and problem was solved, not to mention more power and much better spool.

Replaced the IAC and replaced a vacuum hose that didn't fit tight and now the car rubs smoooooth with the Spearco setup.
