Speedometer Problems

Okay, heres the problem. After getting the 87 running after almost a year the speedometer started acting up. Once the car gets past about 55mph the needle starts acting crazy and going back and forth. You can hear a noise in the dash. I had the speedo out once or twice while it was sitting, but I'm pretty sure I didn't break anything. Any ideas?

Go to www.gnttype.org and follow the instructions for greasing the speedo cable
