I am considering putting all the stock springs back in place on my stock trans in my 86 GN. Can you identify these springs which I took out when I did the rebuild / shift kit but do not remember what they are used for.

Orange
1.4" OD
1.52" long
4 coils

Black
.475" OD
1.9" long
17 coils

Grey w/white stripe
1.7" OD
1.7" long
4 coils

Yellow
.28" OD
1.31" long
15 coils

Blue & red
.225" OD
1.06" long
17 coils

Thanks for the help.

I can understand your point of backing up a little on the "shift kit" experience.
Not very likely that you or I would really "enjoy" the same shift qualities.
Accumulator springs "dampen" hydralic apply oil, I would recommend leaving them stock or slightly higher stiffness, many shift kits recommend drilling feed holes(orifices) larger to quicken shifts but often result in becomming too harsh for day to day existance, you may want to replace your spacer plate with one having slightly smaller feed holes with stiffer springs to achieve a nice "positive" shift without snapping your head during normal driving.
Good luck,

Kevin.

I happened to stumble across this today:

ww.drwtransmission.com/spring_specs_for_br2_VB.htm Spring specs for BR2

you'll have to add a "w" and pste this into the search bar since I don't have enough post to link... anyways it is a list of springs and descriptions

Thanks for the replies, I got what I need. Now to decide on what to do.
