I sold my ta49 to my brother and will be putting his stock turbo on my car for a little. Question is how fast can i go with the stock turbo, how fast will they take me before they die out. What is the sweet spot for the turbo.

thans guys

105-106mph traps and I broke the shaft in two stockers. Both had the wastegate locked shut and only 19psi was possible, no exhaust leaks just wouldn't flow anymore. I replaced the oil feed line on the second one and it only took 3 runs to break it.

I wanted to add that with only the addition of the TA49 it picked up 4-5mph with only 13-15psi so I'd say the stocker was maxed out big time.

Stock turbo

You hit on a great idea, how fast has anyone gone on a basic stock turbo and stock cam? Just normal upgrades like the fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, hot wire to fuel pump, computer chip, high flow air filter and close to stock injectors?

I agree with the 105 trap speed

I tried to go faster just wouldnt do it

I had some head work and 194-204 cam

depends on how hard you can hook it for et ..13.0 something was my best with 1.89 60 ft

I went 12.58@106 with a stock turbo, injectors, dp, exhaust, 112 octane and 20psi. My turbo would peg my 30psi gauge when screwing around with the bleeder valve. 20psi was about it though.

Hey crazygn. this summer, I plan on doing some extensive tests between the stock turbo vs the TA33C on my TM V2 kit. I am going to determine what kind of differences there are and where. Because you are running the TM V2 kis along with a powerstroke IC, she will probably run out of steam at the 4500 mark, cause theres just not enough cfm. But for the street she should be killer. Instant boost on command. The stock turbo seems to be pretty great for just regular street driving, and even racing :). But apparently a bigger turbo is needed to hit those over 100mph speedtraps. I hope to have more news when spring comes around!
