This morning I listened to the radio on my way to work with no problems. When I turned on the radio after work (after driving a ways) all I got was a bunch of static and a prominent alternator whine. As a depressed and released the accelerator, the whine changed to match.

Is this a problem with my head unit (it is stock) or a different wiring problem? I planned to replace the headunit soon, but if there is a different wiring problem in the car, I'd rather fix that first.

Thanks for any help.

usually bad plug wires will "tick" throug hthe audio chain. You either have a ground coming loose (I know you don't want to hear that) or the altenator is going south (you don't want to hear that either).
