Anyone using the 1" rear sway bar from suspension techniques? I just received one from jegs for around $125. I noticed theat instead of mounting like the stock bar, it has plates welded to the end of bar that attach to the Inside of the lower control arms. The kit also came with thinner spacers than stock that sandwich between the welded mounting plates and the inner wall of control arm. Just wondering if anyone has installed one of these bars and if so how do they like it, and were there any issues with the install (seeing that it mounts different than stock bar). Thanks, JOE

I got one

I have the ST bar installed in my car, but I can't relate to the mounting. I have Global West Lowers and Edelbrock uppers. The Sway bar went on pretty normal. Mine looked like a normal sway bar and came with a bunch of plates and washers. I bolted up the bar (loose) and slid the plates (open end down) in between and then tightened the bolts. It sits in there snug. There is no side to side movement on my car. I haven't drive it, ala no motor, but If you jack up one end the whole rear will come with it almost straight. I don't know if yours will be like that, but I was going after this effect, in that I'm setting it up for road racing. It should work pretty well in drag environment as well, though.

I don't quite understand why mine is different then. Its got plates welded onto each end of the bar! Kinda weird if you ask me. The directions are very vague and just state to mount the bar with the welded plates sitting on inside of the lower control arms and then use the spacers provided.

they might be telling you to mount it the same as stock. By "inside" they may be referring to the inner sections of the arms, not for it to actually sit "inside" the actual arm, have you tried to line it up against the arms? I installed mine the same way as a stock bar.

No, I havn't sized the bar up as the car is in storage right now. The spacers that they provided with install kit are less wide than the stock spacers. I'm assuming that they want the welded plates to install on inside of arms to take up the difference. I guess i won't truly know how it installs until i go ahead and pull the old bar off and size up the new one. ALSO, the welded mounting plates are at an angle and not straight (90 deg) to the bar itself. Is there a reason for this? Thanks, JOE

I really dom't know try calling them, maybe they sent you the wrong one?

It has the part # right on the Bar and corresponds with the one called out for A G-body! The instructions are for a G-body bar install and mention placing bar on inside of both control arms. Maybe i will give em a call. Can't seem to find their contact # or a website for that matter! (suspension techniques).
