I need a new torque converter, I don't have the stock one and I have lots of laq. Which Performance Transmission Services converter do you recommend, their D5 or the 9/11? Mostly street occasionally raced.

Which converter do you have now? You should not have any lag with a 49 and a higher stall than stock, something else is wrong. Check drivers side header for crack. I would go with a modded or stock D5 from Bruce in your case.

i dont think its higher then stock it feels very tight its a 12 inch but not a d5. it spooled slow with the stock turbo i just replaced. no header leaks i run a thrasher chip. i think the old owner blew up the transmission and just replaced it with a regular one from a monte or something. im going to get a new tci transmission and new convertor right away.

Never dealt with TCI but here they have a good product. I would give Bruce a call. I got one of his trans and converters and the car screems. You won't find better support either, great product great guy.

I made a huge mistake and bought a TCI a few years back. I would use a recommended TR builder instead. I've since opened the tci unit to see the junk they put in it. yeah it was an easy order from Summit with credit card and price seemed reasonable and it was shipped quickly and I was in an extreme hurry - beyond all that is was a HUGE MISTAKE.

If you're going with a converter for that combo, I just listed a brand new in the box 9X11 and superpump built by Bruce. I changed the direction of my combo so I won't need it.

Check the parts for sale section. THe converter spools at 2800-3000.

P.S. I hope you don't need any stall with that turbo, as I'm stepping down from my 51 to the 49.
