I probably have a bad MAF but that another subject. I kinda assumed the car was smoking because of the MAF but I noticed oil dripping from underneath the turbo.

A little history, the turbo is about 1-1/2 years old ta-49 with about 1000.00 miles on it. I had a lifter give way. My question is although I had the turbo flushed really good do ya'll think the metal might have gone through the turbo and damaged it. How can I tell myself without sending it back.

Any help is appreciated.

Take a peek in the DP for oil...or if the exhaust starts turning blue a minute or two after a cold start...it might be an indication of oil dripping down the DP and being burned once the exhaust heats up.

Thanks Man I'm I'll take a look at that when I get a chance.

One problem I am having is I can't get the down pipe to seal to the exhaust side of tubo for more than a day or so at a time. I just installed a new gasket from highway stars a couple of days ago and it stopped making that exhaust leaking sound for about a day then it started again.

Could just be the oil return leaking, worse could be the turbo seal or an issue with oil pressure in the turbo.

I never concern myself with the DP not being 100% sealed, but Orange RTV is the ugly ticket to sealing it right.

Check your downpipe flange...might be warped.

A little while back I took the down pipe off and it was a little out of shape so I did my best to true it up. As far as the rtv high temp each time I've tried that it ends up just crumbling up and turning into powder.

Does anyone know ruffly what it cost to have a turbo rebuilt in case the seals or gone.

After christmas if it Gods will I might invest in another down pipe instead of the one that I have. The one I have has a clamp that connect the two pieces together.
