Would like to know if anyone is running a TE45A w/ the smc single nozzle system? If so, how much boost are you able to run before the single nozzle can't keep up?
 
Depends on the pump pressure. The higher the flow/pressure.. the higher the boost you can run. There is a larger SMC pump that was 100 PSI capable. With that one, mid 20's.

The turbo doesnt dictate how much boost you can run on alky. What does is horsepower. And the higher the HP, the more alky that needs to be shot in. Cuase if you have a plugged exhuast for example, you'll hit 25 PSI and the car wont be going anywhere. So 25 PSI on a stock turbo would be the same.

Tell me GN1's, 224 roller, 3.5 DP, motor running 25 PSI at 11.5:1 AF..single nozzle aint gonna cut. Stock longblock, 25 PSI.. been many on a single nozzle SMC.

I ran on a PT51 like 27 PSI on a stock longblock with a thrasher 92 chip with an SMC kit, car would run high 11's. Any increases to timing or boost.. it would knock. And I have seen those that run way fasterwith modded motors.

Look at Paul's Buick, he ran a high 10 on pump gas alone. No alky. But its a 9 second combo on race gas.

Point of all of this, is flow. Flow enough.. tune it.. anything is possible.

I ran 30lbs in 20 some degree weather on a stock long block with my TE45a. This was on a single Walbro 340, 72lb injectors, 94 octane pump gas and an original single nozzle SMC kit. Its the timing you have to watch. I was running an Extender chip on standard settings of 23° and 21°. I ALWAYS had my pump turn on low to counter any knock. Somewhere around 13lbs of boost seemed about right IIRC.
I now have this complete set up (including the old single nozzle SMC kit) on my father's car with ported heads and a cam and it flies.
On a side note, you will most certainly run out of injector VERY soon with the 60lb'ers,heads, cam and the TE45a. Have you been watching the injector duty cycle?
 
I talked to steve at smc and the dual nozzle kit is for 400+h/p i run 26-28 psi w/methanol and 94 octane no knock at all .my buddie has low 12 sec car with single sprayer and runs 22-24 psi no knock ,just watch knock sensor and run boost up until see little knock then back boost off 1 psi and see what you can get .if getting white steam out of exhaust to much alky.thats what i used to get mine tuned to meth.worked good for me .should hold 22-24 psi no knock
