The 78 and 79 Turbo Regals, worth it??

Im looking to buy a turbo regal, and I'm on a budget.
I sorta like the look of the 2 headlights instead of four on the 78-79 models. I also light the very low prices for the purchase prices for the car itself

But I dont like the acceleration at all. I willing to mod to a certain degree. Black paint job of course also.

Do these cars have any potential to go faster than my 95 base model 4cyl Ford Probe?

Yes they can go much faster than your base model probe. As for being as fast as the later model turbo regals, it can be made to go as fast as they did stock but prepare to do some serious work. I find that the best thing about them is more comfortable to drive, more reliable to drive, and they are always good for some serious head scratching when you pop the hood while surround by the 84-87 turbo regal owners.

1978's do not have the "free breathing" head redesign. If everything else were equal, I'd take the '79.
