Evans race products is in Canada. I ordered a block girdle last October and didn't recieve it till late January. I was giving mulitple excusses. I didnt complain. I just asked to be informed. I recicved the piece and it was a nice quality product. I had also bought some steel center mains from them a few months back with absolutly no problems. I was very pleased. I was a little disappointed with the wait for the block girdle but I got it and it was alot cheaper then in the US. I got 2 emails from them this morning. One saying there going out of busuiness and the other saying he is going to abuse my credit card. I don't understnad what is going on. It is a serious threat in my opion.

If you really feel it is then why haven't you reported it to your card company or cancelled it? I am sure you can block this. Sounds like maybe them going out of business is a good thing!

I emialed my CC company a copy. I also might think that is a threat to make me go throught the hassle of doing it.

Rod just emailed me that he knows nothing of it. Is it possible that someone else can use his address?

This is what I just recieved from one of Evans former customers.
There is something going on. Is there anyway to report it.

I had a long drawn out issue with Evans and received a message Friday from Rod and another today from you (this address) stating that you were going to fraudulently use my card. I then replied to everyone that email was sent to. I have also notified the authorities. I received my monies back from Rod only in the past 30 days or so after almost a year of "screwing around" with his mickey mouse organization. I suggest you refrain from sending email to me as well. I am not your typical "gear head" but a seasoned business professional with a car hobby. I am very tired of this poor business practice.

btw.. you dont need insurance

LEGALLY, you are only liable for $50 if someone uses your credit card number without your permission, it doesnt matter how much money they rack up. you only have to pay $50. if it comes to that, i will get my business law professor to tell me what law you need to look up to prove that. but hopefully it was just a joke by someone and they dont really use your card.

insurance on credit cards is a joke and just a way for the cc companies to take advantage of the unknowing public to make more money.

Hello all. I am Rod from evansrace products. We are not going out of business. I am not on crack. And we did not sent the emails out. Our hotmail account has been hacked or a virus has attacked it or something. I cannot use that account to respond to anyone as our password was changed. I will keep you all informed. I am sorry for the inconveinence this has caused.

As for the girdle I sent in January...I have already discussed the problems that we were experiencing. Again I am sorry for the delay.

Rod

rod, i would seriously try to get another email account other than a free one for business purposes, or atleast when it comes to orders and stuff.. a lot of people get those accounts hacked into.. im not sure why, maybe because they are free, they arent really a security priority.

maybe your isp can give you an extra email address you can use for your business alongside your personal email?

Thanks. I will try that. We were in the process of getting a web site up and were going to use the address provided with the web server. This is a real eye opener!!

Rod

I would like to add that I think that the quality of the products Rod puts out there are excellent. I was very happy with the center caps and block girdle. I seriously hope you find the jackass that did this because It has made a real confusing day for myself. Good luck Rod no hard feelings intended.

lol, thats the problem, HOTMAIL, what kind of business uses a hotmail account? Very unsafe. I wish I had seen this post earlier, as the original email is very much like that of an inexpirienced hacker. :(

From above,
LEGALLY, you are only liable for $50 if someone uses your credit card number without your permission, it doesnt matter how much money they rack up. you only have to pay $50.

True, UNLESS you are using a debut card. If a thief gets your debut card number and info, he can empty your checking account....No insurance or limit on that.

Chiming in..... nobody said failure....issues yes. I will just sit back and let things play out as they come along. Rumors or not this guy had a geniune concern so don't bust my balls about an unrelated thread. Thanks for your attention. Back to helping this guy out.
