Can anyone help kevin on this.
kevin have you found the problem yet?

im having a similar problem. i think it could be the cam sensor setting, it seems like i had it set right . If i press the gas to the floor (shuts off the injectors) crank the motor and let off teh gas , it starts and runs fine. anyone else have any ideas?

Start the car and let it idle. Unplug the cam sensor, and see if it runs better.

Edit: Ok I see the car runs ok, never mind. Cam sensor settings are a big deal on these cars. I am about to buy the Caspers cam tool, for 30 bucks you cant beat it.

I would be more worried about why it doesn't start more quickly the first time such as chip, injectors, cam and crank signals and general tune, vacuum leaks or fuel pressure problems.

The second time starting is most likely unburned fuel igniting improperly and is 'kinda' normal for second start tries.

On the rare instances when I turn the key off while cranking or the car won't start right up my car has experienced the hard cranking syndrome.
