Tire question for a friend

OT - Sorry, but figured you guys would know.
Buddy has a 77 Vette. He wants 17" rims and Kumo tires, but want to maintain a heighth of 27".
What size tire does he need? Tread width isn't an issue, as long as they don't rub.

Something like 265/50/17.
27.43 in overall diameter.

275/45/17
26.74 in

Yup, just got them installed today.


And yeah, like stickybones posted, there's all sorts of tire calculators online that'll tell you the overall height of a tire size. Check them out.

Now I guess tread width "is" an issue.
Don't think he's going to find what he's looking for.
Guessing he'll have to opt for a shorter tire and then recalibrate the speedo.
