Recently checked the bearings on my motor and found that I most likely caught it just before it was going to get ugly. Since the car was apart I figured I should address a theory that my convertor might be bad --it was the excuse I was using for the slow 60 ft times I was getting. Anyway had a local shop cut it open and found at least 5 fins inside the convertor were broken off  . I guess its better that I caught that now instead of getting the car running again and blowing it up on the first blast. The guy at the convertor shop was amazed that I didnt grenade it by the way it looked. Funny thing was it wasnt making any noises and the convertor was made in may of 04. Another interesting thing was I called precision and they told me the convertor was a 9" Vigilante that has a stall of 3600-3800. I told the guys at the convertor shop that and he explained that the angle direction of the blades inside the convertor tell him that the convertor was not that loose. Does that sound right?

Kind of. Does the guy at the converter shop know your HP level? That has a big effect on stall speed.

It would be. It's probably a 6 pump with a 086 "turbo" stator. That will be between 3400-3600 depending on your torque output from the engine.
