I'm very aware on how to adjust this sensor but it does not want to fall in the range of .42-.48 = Idle and 4.00-4.80 = WOT. The highest I can get it is .48 =idle and 3.70 WOT. I have tried three different sensors from cars (TR's) that get the optimal range on their car. We put them on mine and I can't get the same range. Place them back on their cars and adjust it in seconds. What else would prevent me from getting the optimal range with good sensors on my car?

You want .40-.46 at idle, as far as WOT readings is your floormat in the way?

Throttlebody issue. Or you dont have the 5v reference on the gray wire.. TPS plug. I usually yank the TOS forward and holding tension while pulling forward set my base to .42.. lock the screws down.. and check WOT.

You can plug in the tps without it being on the throttlebody and move the lever manually. Should go to 5v. if so.. see whats up with the throttlebody.

Make sure the linkage moves all the way. Did this on my boss's 87 GN on Sunday and couldnt figure out why it wouldnt go past 4v. Turned out the up-pipe clamp was in the way, and stopping the throttle arm from moving open all the way.

Just make sure that isnt the case.

Tps

I will be checking all these thing in a few hours. I will update shortly.

Thanks guys,

I got a chance to play around with this sensor again and I still haven't got it nailed down. I can say I removed the Trans Kick down cable and it almost got there, but that was with it set at .46 idle. All linkages are moving freely. I do have the 5v at the gray wire. This is a new sensor by the way. :( I have an RJC plate underneath the dog house. Could that be it.

I'm starting to think something is wrong with the throttlebody. I will use my brother's and check his out on my car.

You can also open up the slot with a small round file to give a little more adjustment. I had to do this on a "new" replacement.

I've had to widen(so I could move the sensor up or down) and lengthen the slots(rat-tail file) on a couple TPS's, to get the correct range of adjustment. Take your up-pipe off, and be certain that the throttle plate is opening fully, with the pedal to the floor, also.

I will try this when I get home.
