WOULD THIS BE TOO HEAVY? ANY ONE DONE THIS BEFORE? NOTHING HAS BEEN DECIDED JUST GIVING IT SOME THOUGHTS ACTUALY I WOULD RATHER TRADE THIS FOR A 86/87 GN ROLLER:biggrin:

We have the same truck. I can tell you roughly what the scales say after a run to the dumps.... 5200 lbs!
I would look into how to lighten it up a lot but not sure how you would as everything is heavier; frame, suspension, etc.
 
I think that would be very cool. I have a 2005 Silverado and the thought has definatly crossed my mind several times.
 
Fiberglass hood, front bumper, rear roll pan, composite bed off of a later Z-71, it would all help pull the weight down but you're still looking at a pretty hefty vehicle. Taking weight off of the backend is the last thing I'd be wanting to do aswell.
