tranny shifts feeling soft...

it seems like my tranny shifts soft...i rode in my friends 96 mustang GT with 100k miles on it and his tranny shifts very hard and i was just thinking my tranny doesnt shift like that at all...

while crusing normally it feels REAL soft as in you can barely feel a "tug" when it shifts...when WOT hits...the tranny shifts through the gears like nothing and you can barely even feel the shifts! my friend rode with me and said "man this car is so smooth you can barely feel the shifts on hard accleration"

my tranny is bone stock with no shift kit or nothin...91k miles mostly highway driven with a few times to the track...is this a sign? sometimes i feel it slip a gear on very soft acceleration say slowing down and then starting up again...like the rpms jump way up for a second and then it shifts into another gear...this can't be good...

Hey Don, first off,I wanna say, that is a very nice page you have started there man. Congradulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Ok, now on to the questions you had. It sounds as though you are nearing the time to put some strength behind that twister. Do some heavy research before you commit yourself to any builder. If you are planning on putting more h/p to the rear wheels you need to consider running as many high quality billet components as possible to minumize breakage. Check the various builders and vendors around here and talk to their past customers. You have several builders fairly near you there, so info should be readily available to you. thanks! boy i tell you what, if money wasn't an option i would send my tranny all the way across country to you guys but that would cost me more than the tranny rebuild itself

i was planning on getting it rebuilt this winter...i was just wondering if my tranny is "starting" to go south now...i am not sure if i should race it anymore this year...hell i haven't raced it at the track once yet! (long story) we'll see what happens...how much am i looking at for a rebuilt 200-4R that is still totally streetable yet capable of handling low to mid 10's?

you need a good shift recalibration kit.the factory calibration leaves much to be desired .
