87 GN ,45K miles, stock with alky and usual bolt ons

When I press gas pedal it just revs and barely moves forward and barely reverse (had to have car toed home).

Fluid is a clear red with no burnt smell or indication of metal in fluid.

I was tuning the new alky system and had made 4 runs with no problem. The fifth run, as I began pressing the gas, the car just revved and would not move forward.

This past week while at idle in drive or reverse, I heard a squeaky/whirring noise from the transmission. There was no noise when in neutral.

Any advice /help is appreciated as to what the problem might be is appreciated.

sounds like torque converter or possibly the splines on the stock stator finally gave out. Others will chime in, but thats what comes to mind right off the bat.
