Ok, Here is what I used (attached image). I sanded several pieces down with 320 to get them smooth and get rid of a few knicks, then followed that up with 400 and blew it off, and that up with 600 and blew it off. After reading the instructions again, I went back and hit everything again with 400 and blew it off because I thought a "600" finish would be better. But then realized, if that is what I was suppose to do, it would say that.
I then hit it with the cleaner and let it dry. And again with the 400 and blew it off. Then with the cleaner again and let it dry. (Because thats what it says to do)
I then hit everything with a tack cloth as mentioned here. Everything turned out great except two blemishes.
As you can see, in the bezels, they look good except the one spot. I know I cleaned there, and sanded, and cleaned, and sanded, etc....
What is going on here? Similar small issue in the top left corner of the opposite.
I don't mind going through this again as I obviously need to, but need to know what happened so I don't have to a 3rd time. Besides the fact I now need to get another can of paint. Everything looked even after sanding and cleaning, It was dry.

Looks like a problem called lifting.. It results when multiple coats are not allowed proper flash time between coats.. Most likely the paint was heavier in the corners/radii resulting in this. Just allow more flash time!

GC

less paint and more time between coats...one very light coat, barely noticeable, wait 7-10 min @ 65*+/- and then hit with another cover coat, wait another 12-15 min and lay a finish coat....

I'm going to do this again, 320 in the problem areas, then 400 everything.
I'll blow it off between sanding, wipe it down with the cleaner, sand again, blow it off, clean again, tack cloth it. Then continue on with 4 coats of the trim paint using a little less each coat than last time and let sit for 11 minutes between each instead of 10.

I'm having a hard time believing it was too much paint. I only did light coats. And the other bezels looks great. Weird phenomenon I guess. Maybe there was something under what I sanded that didn't react well with this product. That's what I guessed before I posted. Everything looked uniform before I sprayed it.

Sound good?

cool! well if you ever need anything small PC'd give me a shout!
I just picked up some PCd stuff from a local guy I use. Kankakee is a bit of a hike when I can get stuff to him in about 5 minutes and done usually the next day.
Good to know I have another option though.

If you ever get up to the shows in Frankfort IL on thursday evenings, you'll most likely find me. Sometimes with a car... lol ;)

Thats cool!! I totally understand about the trip thing. I see your using the SEM prep, maybe you should consider buying to plastic adhesion promoter too. Bulldog makes are really good product and can usually be found near the plastic prep stuff. The first 2 coats should be so light that you should barely even be noticeable. The last 2 are where your coverage really should start to show.

As far as the shows go, yeah someday Ill try to get up there, my car is in complete disassembly right now - just about finished with the frame resto, then I get to move onto the shell.

Are you going to Pinks All Out this year? Ill definitely be there, maybe we can meet up and have a brew or something.

I'll be a Pinks. I know quite a few guys "trying out". Not sure, but if all goes well, I'll even take a day off work for it.

Several guys from this site show up at Frankfort, hardly ever all at once though, lol.

As far as the adhesion promoter. I asked about that, and it doesn't appear to be a benefit with this product, and isn't in the instructions on the product if memory serves me right. I used this exact same procedure on a bunch of parts and this bezel is the only thing this happened to.
