trunk latch

my trunk wont close- i tried to move the latch down- it wont lock, i tried pushing it up with a screwdriver- putting the key in turning and closing- nothing will work- is there a way to fix it or do i need a new one

If it doesn't latch, the latch mechanism, I guess you need another. More than likely, it's not lining up properly with the fixed part in the trunk. Did you do anything to move these parts out of line?
