I know this may not be the right place for it but I was wondering if the speedo in the TTA was electronic just like the other 3rd gen Firebirds? If it was can anyone help explain how it is made to work with the GN equipment (i.e. 200r4 and stock ECM)? Thanks for your help!

There was a special vss that installed into the side of the trans where the speedo would attach. This piece has a driven gear and a 2 pulse hall effect switch on it. The only other vehicles that used something like this were the TH2004r equipt rear wheel drive Cadillacs of the same time period.
This piece has been discontinued by GM for a very long time, although it might be available through the aftermarket from a vendor such as Borg Warner.

If I were to obtain something like this either used or from an aftermarket source, how would I go about hooking it up to the speedo and ECM so both work without problems? Thanks again!

What are you trying to accomplish? Is this for your GN? Are you trying to install a different speedometer?

I am going to attempt putting a 1990-1992 Camaro gauge cluster in my GN but before I even try and fit it I wanted to know how the TTA cluster was hooked up since the TTA cluster and Camaro cluster are essentialy the same units. I ampretty sure I am all set with wiring so now I have to fit it and attempt to make it look factory. Thanks!
