Hey guys.I have tried my alky kit in the past and found out that mixing 70/30 with water helped.so this time I'm going to try 50/50.My question is where should I start with the tuning?I have blown 2 head gaskets in the past trying to get it right.I have since installed an EGT meter and found an intake leak and fixed it.Installed a powerplate as well.I have an extender chip for alky, timing is 23/21,but I have the translator set on base to 19/17 for 93 octane.Where should I adjust the timing and how much per boost?More timing with more boost or add boost and keep the timing where its at?What turn on point works best for you?Should pump speed be higher or lower with the water added? My combo is in the sig. Please help me figure it out and any pointers on using my scanmaster and EGT to tune will be greatly appreciated. It has never worked quite right for me.

23/21 timing should work fine.

Turn on point at 9-10 psi.

I use full pump speed others like 8 or so.

Tune for very little to 0 KR.

Walk the boost up 1 psi. at a time start low about 17-18 psi. boost.

Pump gas O2's with my car are in the low 800's with alky.

My EGT's are about mid 1500's to low 1600's at 24 psi. and 20* timing.

I use the knock meter more EGT's when making timing changes.

With the big turbo and ported heads maybe you should start at 15 psi. boost and work your way up.

Dual nozzle kit might help as well.

Play it safe when tuning. You can keep your current timing until you get your desired boost level, and then slowly add timing till you get ~1 degree of knock, and then back off the timing.

Personally I like higher turn on points, about 2-3 psi before you would normally get knock on 93 octane.

If you get any bog, either increase timing or raise the turn on point.

You have some excellent numbers given there by 2 guys that have lots of experience. You also have all the equipment needed to avoid popping HG's. It is good you got an alchy chip as this will give the best performance/tuneability.

Keep in mind that with the ported heads, you don't need insane boost numbers to make lots of power. With alum. heads Dennis Hogan ran 10.9's on alchy and pump gas.

Turn-on points vary as do the timing and exact alchy mixture. If you are single stage 50-50 will not work (IMO) so stay with a 70-30.

Concentrate on final EGT's, and running with no bog. Forget trying to get extreme boost numbers, and make all your changes, a little bit at a time. Spend time at the track so you can keep track of the results of your top 3 combinations. Lots of boost doesn't mean youy are making lots of power. I can get 23 psi, and run 13's due to drowning the spark. Boost isn't everything..

Good luck!
