Today I was messing with my ttype a little, changed the 02, checked plugs (always white!), and changed the EGR gasket because of an oil residue in the surrounding areas. Okay, here goes....EGR and Fuel Pressure Regulator questions.....

EGR:
When I pulled it off I noticed that the upper passage had a lot of oil residue? But I have a Power Plate on my car and the EGR is blocked off? What would cause this oil residue to get in the EGR passages? Also, the motor was out about 8,000 miles ago and I cleaned everything up including the EGR passages, etc. FYI, I am running the correct AC Delco PCV valve, and sometimes I notice some oil residue on the top of the PCV and around it on the intake too. Any thoughts? Do I need to drill that hole out on the Power Plate? Car has 127K miles, and is my daily driver. Stock turbo, IC, blue tops, fuel system (getting to that below), ported turbo elbow, 2 3/4" DP, etc......

Fuel System:
After messing with the car, I checked my FP for the first time in a few weeks.......last time I had set it at 42psi LINE OFF. When I pulled the vac hose off, it was at 34 or 35psi! So, I put it back on, to watch what it dropped down too......it didnt move much at all. Hrmmm, okay, so I upped the fuel back to 42, it took forever to get to 42!?!? So I went for a test drive with the FP gauge under the wiper. It was sitting at 34 line on....did a 15mph punch and the FP didnt climb very much very fast!?!? If I remember correctly, its suppost to jump up pretty quick with boost (14-15psi right now in my ttype), and of course the rule of thumb is 1psi of fuel for 1psi of boost. So I pulled the car into 2nd gear about 35-40mph and stabbed it......boost came in pretty quick, but the fuel just seemed to be sluggish coming up, as soon as the car went to 3rd gear I could hear knock. SMII readings are low 800s, saw 5KR before it went to 3rd gear, and saw an EGT of 1500* before it went to 3rd (kinda lean for 2nd gear correct?) I have a billet top adjustable regulator that I bought from a friend of mine about a year ago.......does that sound like the problem here? Should I try a 237 regulator I got laying around here and see if anything changes? Another thing it might be is my FP gauge, I honestly dont trust it........I guess if I change regulators and there is no change, it could just be the FP gauge? Argh.....I dont know..........sorry for the rambling, just let me know what you think.

About a month ago I took it to the track on 110 and a Jay Carter Race Chip, and the car was running well. 1550-1600* EGTs at the top of 3rd gear, no knock, high 700 02s, and the car went 107.27mph. On pump gas this car just seems to hate boost over 13psi. Of course, we have crap gas here, 92 at best...........alchy is in the future for it..........but anyway, please let me know what you think on the 2 issues stated above........THANKS GUYS
