... insulator... which then lead to a round spot of burnt, rippled paint.

anyone else had this problem before?

were could i get a hood insulator for cheap, i dont want to spend 100s of dollars on one:(

I think I've seen them on e-bay and other sources for about $100. I'm thinking maybe it was Poston's.

i have seen people buy a wrapper just for the turbo exaust side and wrapp it that helps i will try to find out more about it..

I have a brand new one. $110 shipped. Let me know if you want it.

wiked87gn ~ I would really apreciate it if you could come up with something, either post it on here, or IM me.

Sweet6 ~ I am interested, but I would like to make sure I have the problem FIXED properly, cause if i install your liner, and it burns, Im out 100 bucks. I'll try to get back to you in the future, so keep me in mind, send me a IM with price, picture and Tele number, name, and ill get back to you in a few weeks when i have the money, no rush as of now, just keep me in mind.

Thanks guys,

give an email to this member on this board (750H.P.V6) you can find him on the western forum thats where he post most of the time his name is neal and i saw what i was describing to you on his turbo T maybe he can explain to you were he got it from or who makes it..

Do you still have the turbo heatshield on your car?? Plenty of guys running turbos with glass hoods, big boost, etc.. who don't have this problem.

You can use thermo-tec wrap on the exhaust side, available from vendors like RacePartsSolutions, etc.. but most people who do this, do it to reduce spoolup time and not so much as a means of keeping their hood liner from burning up, or their hood paint from burning up..

I'm not running a turbo shield, but I don't have an underhood pad on either of my TRs. Haven't had this problem. Wonder if the hood pad smouldered and caused damage to the paint on your hood. Maybe you're running lean causing hotter temps.
