turbo link or scan tool

I was thinking of getting a scan tool. I looked on ebay and couldn't find anything and a mechanic I know doesn't want to sell his equipment. I was wondering if anyone has used turbo link and how they like it compared to a scan tool? Would it be worth it for what I'm trying to do with my car which is just tune it properly? Am I better off trying to find a scan tool?

go to www.gnttype.org and then go to the scan tool comparison link. I feel every street driven tr should have a scanmaster for daily driving, and either TL or DS for track tuning.

i would also definately start off with a scanmaster. if i had one from the day i got my car i would still have my original motor in the car.
