I am having trouble with my turbo oil drain tube and grommet. I have searched the forum and was considering either a aftermarket tube from http://www.espperformance.com/ or just using the 86/87 one. What do you guys suggest?

What specific issue are you having with the drain tube?

It's pretty mangled and creased at the bottom. I was having trouble getting it to seat into the grommet last night. I know I can get it with some patience, but I figured if threre was something easier to deal with, why not switch over to save future headaches. Thanks.

The '86-87 motors have the oil drain in the front of the block. You can drill and tap the hole there in your block, but I'm not sure if there would be any interference with brackets or accessories.

Mine was not making a tight seal at the grommet - so I bought a stainless steel tube from Johns Performance. Much tighter fit now - plus its a 'lil longer so its easier to slide into the grommet when installing the turbo.

I read on some other threads that you can use the 86/87 if you cut off the threaded potion of it and just slide it into the grommet. Anyways, I didn't feel like waiting for parts(do enough of that at work) so I just put it back together again to be messed with another day. Thanks guys.
