Ive got a TE 61 turbo with a polished housing, and minimum shaft play. I need a TA 33 or adapted TA 49 turbo for my hotair, any offers or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I would like to go to a larger turbo, but no way to use that turbo on hotair, right? Unless someone out there has done this by using a TE series with an adaptor for the TB? I would think that using silicone hose there would not be rigid enough to support the constant pulling on the cable bracket attached to the TB. Would it even fit under the hood in stock location? My TA33 has about 10,000 miles on it now. Always used synthetic motor oil with it, and is in great shape. Have to pull TB to give more specifics on any shaft play.
What are you looking for money wise for it? Ive got a 87 motor but not ready to put it in anything yet. Focusing on the hotair car now and not really thinking about converting it
Well I got this turbo to put in a hotair, but I lost my machine shop connections, and just want something to bolt in.
Id trade you my TE61 and some cash for that ta 33, but it will have to be soon since Im putting the car back together this week.
I know the turbo will fit, since this is the same size one Lee Thompson has in his hotair. I just wish I knew someone to make me all the pieces to get it to fit.
You could send it to John Craig and he could modify it for ya. It would be less than a new TA 33 when I called him.
Im really interested in trading though so shoot me a offer on my personal email. Im looking to give the turbo and around 200.
