Turbo Trans Am Question

Hi all,

I currently own a 1980 Turbo T/A. My question is, I know that the turbo that was put on the car from the factory is really meant for a V-6. What turbo should I go with to replace that and is it as simple as disconnecting a few lines and unbolting a few bolts? Thanks for any help.

The turbo on the 80 Turbo TA is way different than what is on the 89s. I'm not sure how a turbo conversion goes on those cars since the compressor housing is mounted directly to the intake manifold. I would suggest asking on www.transamcountry.com there are a lot more of the 80-81 Turbo TA guys on that website, or you can try Turbo Trans AM.Com and there are a couple of them on there too.
