I just got TurboLink 4.0.11 hooked up to my stock '84 ECM, and logged my first few recordings. However, I have a question: There is no TPS info displayed; is this a limitation of the ECM or the software? Or do I need to be in ALDL mode instead of Normal mode? Any help appreciated. Thx!

It should pick up the TPS.

Any error codes?
It used tlink for testing and tuning a hot air hybrid for a friend.

Make sure it has voltage with the engine off but key on.

Hi Bob,

It appears that TPS info only appears in ALDL mode; however, I cannot get TL to connect to the ECM in ALDL mode. I consistently get the "Unable to connect to ECM" error. I'm using a 3rd-party cable, do I need the TL-specific cable? This one works in Normal mode just fine.

I also looked at WinALDL and TunerPro RT, but neither one has an option for the 1226459 ECM.

?

Tx,
~Dave

I've actually come across a full '87 setup, so I will bite the bullet and go with PowerLogger.

I do have to say, though, I'm impressed that TurboLink worked at all with my ancient Dell laptop and no-name Serial-to-ALDL cable. :)

any chance you want to sell that turbolink kit?

I still use the laptop to run PowerLogger, but I can send you the software and cable.

Actually, I have 2 cables: 1 serial-to ALDL and 1 USB-to-ALDL, I can send both. Let me know.

i think i will need the usb to aldl cable. does it allow everything to function with the software?

I believe these were originally sold with a special interface, so YMMV using the generic cables. My results depended upon what laptop I was using. For example, only the serial cable worked at all on my Windows 2000 laptop (now completely destroyed), and only in standard ECM mode; but the USB cable worked fine on my Windows XP laptop, with the software in ECM or diagnostic modes. I guess nobody can fully guarantee it without the original TurboLink interface.

Hi Bigal, sent you a PM.

Boostedyards, I guess you could say TurboLink is like that, just older and specific to the Turbo cars...

I never did get mine working on my laptop, I figure its cause im running vista home premier.
