Wow, that's a bunch of green, the orange under the hood is a nice contrast though. BTW, what's the box on top of the fan shroud?

That's the original Hypertech chip. Wasn't solid state, it used tubes and cathode rays. ;)

black box

Hello

That box is the "Turbo Control Center" I just sold one to a dude in Canada about 5 months ago. I think those cars had one of those electronic Quadra-Bog carbs on it.

I also think it is the equivalent to our ESC on the 86 to 87 cars.

Believe it or not I would love to have that car, If I was near CA I would buy it in a heart beat :) That is a great classic example of a classic early production TR, I would love to restore one and leave it stock for a nice collectors car.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

I have a soft spot in my heart for green Regals. My first car was a Mint Green Metallic '77 Regal with Green Landau roof and green velour interior. I would give my left nut for a Light Sage Metallic '87 T.

The only electronics is spark control with a knock sensor. The carb is not electronic, but is specific to the turbo motors. They changed the power valve due to the differences in vacuum under the carb.

That is a neat car. Those turbo rims were a short term item. Power split bench, not buckets. Power windows, locks. Tilt, but no cruise. Factory power sun roof.

Those were light cars. You can find aluminum bumper supports, radiator supports, trunk lids, and also that filler panel between the rear window and the trunk was aluminum.

Boy that car can't make up its mind what year or model it is.
His description says 1979,1984,1985,1986,1987,Buick Turbo,Grand National,GNX

"This is the ultimate sleeper Turbo charged Buick V6. It’s much more stealth than a Buick Grand National or GNX."

a GNX is stealth? a sleeper?

I think he put the extra years and titles in the description to catch people doing searches that include the narrative.
