Well the end of the muscle car season is upon us here in Michigan. I bought my car on August 3rd and put about 300 miles on it. Most these miles were unhappy miles. It's all my fault. When I bought the car I was too much in a hurry to really look around and go through the car before I bought it. I hope anyone who plans on buying a Turbo Buick in the future please take the time to really look the car over before you buy it. My first gripe is the suspension and rims on my car. The person I bought it from lived on nice blacktop country roads. After I bought it and drove it around the not so perfect city roads I just about lost my teeth. 18" rims and lowered springs equals rough roads. My 2nd gripe is the trans. I don't think it is shifting correctly and i think it is missing 4th gear. I had 3100 rpm at 65 mph. 3rd gripe is the brake light that comes on whenever I tap the brake. Light goes off. But I found it strange that the light did not come on once when I took it for a test drive. Almost like the brake light bulb was not installed when I took it for a test drive. Well I guess next year I will be changing shocks and rims on my car and having the trans checked out. PLEASE EVERYONE BEWARE and really take your time when buying a car.

Sorry to hear your not happy with your Turbo Buick. The 18's are a no brainer on how the car is going to ride. Asfar as the trans, maybe your TV cable needs to be adjusted?? And it sounds like you need a new accumulator ball for your brake problem.. 5 min. fix. Don't seem to major of problems to me?? Good luck!

I hear you. I might have been in a little rush to get mine as i found a sweeter deal locally, but and i mean a big BUT, i bought my car from the original owner, older than 65yrs old, my gut told me to get it, i looked at others and just didnt feel right. While further inspecting (still dont know all that im looking at) the car later when i got home and looking through receipts (have all from day one) i found way too many goodies that the owner didnt tell me about b/c he probably couldnt remember. Needless to say i have so much stuff from this car im happy, i paid more than i wanted, but im very happy.

Sounds more like it is not going into lockup which happens sometimes. As you are driving in high gear, tap the brake while maintaining your speed and see if RPMs jump up about 500. If they don't then the TCC (torque converter clutch) solenoid is not working. It could just be a misadjustment at the brake pedal switch or the solenoid itself. Simple fix, less than $30 in parts and 1 hour labor.

THat's true but he bought it from the original owner and i would have hoped he would have mentioned that when selling the car.
If it does have the 2004r still and plan to do any mods to the car you might as well have it built a little bit. Make sure you take it to a reputable 2004r builder. I had my transmission built by Vince Janis in Akron, OH and have been very pleased.
