US Army Cavalry Scout

Does anyone know anyone or anything about this MOS, 19D? I am in the Navy right now but am putting my package through to transfer to the Army. I asked for infantry, 11B, but it was manned 107% so they offered me Cavalry Scout. From what I have seen on the net, it looks way better than regular infantry. Only thing that kinda erks me is they are taking away my rank. I am an E6 now but they are gonna make me an E5 but eligible for E6 right away. Oh well, Im still doing it. Have had my paperwork in for about 2 weeks. Have 3 of the 5 approving officials signatures so far. Should be heading to Ft Knox in Aug and then to Scout scholl and supposedly they are gonna let me pick a unit since Im prior service. If thast the case, I will be heading back to Iraq for the next 12-14 months after Scout School.

I'm not military, but am familiar. Most everytime you switch services you'll be losing a rank. Buddy of mine just went from Navy reserve to Army National Guard here in Ky. He lost rank too. He's also currently deployed and will stand a good chance at going overseas in the future.

Ft. Knox is just to the south of where I live. There are two decent 1/8 mi tracks that are very close to the base. We run there quit a bit. Give us a shout and we'll take you there to vent a little!
