Guys, here is the best tip I found so far and it cost me ten dollars.

GET THE AC DELCO CR43TS PLUGS.

I have had my 84 Hottie for about two years. Have Turbo Link on order right now. Had R44ts plugs in it and could never get past 4-5 lbs of boost. It seemed to knock, rattle, sputter, you name it (that's why the TL is on order). In the meantime while waiting I changed plugs today. The old ones have only been in a year.

DIFFERENT CAR!!!!!!!:) :D

I have been over 10 lbs of boost and nearly to 15. What a difference. First time I have really felt any boost with this car. It was sweet.

SO, if you are having problems with the spit, the knock or whatever. Change the plugs to the Commercial grades of the Ac Delco's. I think the extra thick electrode really helps with the boost (what do I know, newbie).

Great Board, Great Members!!!!

:p I can't believe you actually kept it that long with only 4 lbs of boost. I'd have burned it after a few weeks. It must have been a real sloth. Congratulations...I hope there are many 15lb bursts in you TR future.

I was thinking about this previously (plug type) and am using the 44's as well. I was hoping to get some better performance and would like to try the 43's next season. Thanks for the info!

if you dont have an IC and you live in a hot area

try 42's

worked good for me, i got a 13.6 with em, and everyone told me my car wouldnt start in cold weather and would idle like crap..

proved them wrong.

The plugs shouldn't have made that much difference. Were the old ones gapped too wide or something or a plug wire not on tight? I ran the 44s when I ran 12.9@110mph because I just got it back from the smog shop. It was only 15psi but I have I feeling I could've gone much higher on the boost with racegas with those plugs.
