hello people; I was just looking at an article on the Corvette. Did you know it's the longest running model put out by GM only second to the Suburban. In it also there was a statement. In Nov. 2011 the 100 millionth small block V8 engine came off the assembly line at General Motors Performance Build Center in
suburban Detroit.
that's 100,000,000th that's got to say something. No wonder theres so much SB stuff you can get and has been proven.

if the Suburban's been around longer, then the Corvette isn't the longest running nameplate.. and i don't think you can actually call it the second longest running nameplate, since there wasn't an 83 model year Corvette released to the general public.. altho even then, it might be the second longest running nameplate since i can't think of any other current GM nameplate that's been around longer than that..

regarding the small block thing: do they count the 97 and newer GEN 3, 4, and 5 engines in that count?

hello; The article is at work and I believe thats the end of that talk and then it gets into more Vette stuff. I'll ch thou.

Buick is still the oldest American car company in operation. I remind all my Chevy and ford buddies of that all the time. I am a little bit of a smart ass.

Also, be sure to remind them that Louis Chevrolet cut his teeth as a race car driver for Buick. :D
