Yah, that is slick.

I just wish they had the people responsible for that in the hull of that transporter when they submerge it. Kinda like giving a dog a flea bath.

you should have seen those pics about a year ago :)

at anyrate they are still very impressive. its hard to phathom a ship big enuff to carry an other ship home... thats damn impresive. got to love technology

Saw it in person...

I work on the dock at the ChevronTexaco refinery in Pascagoula, MS. The crude oil ships and barges all come in via the same channel approaching Ingalls Shipbuilding (now Northrup Grumman) where the original USS Cole build and subsequent repairs were done. We got to watch the Cole come in for repairs.

Sad and amazing all at the same time.

I was on a ship in the late '60's called the USS WHITE SANDS. It was a dry dock. We carried around a bathyscaph called the Trieste. That is how we got it on board way back then.

still amazes me that that ship didnt sink with that huge hole in its side. i give praise to the crew for its awsome damage control.
