What would be a good price to pay for a set of fresh TTA ported heads. I found a set for sale locally and was wondering what would be a good price to pay for them. They where ported by Champion.

Thanks: Jason

I don't know if this will help you any, but here in KC there is a well known head porter that will fully "race" port a set of TTA heads and multi angle cut the stock valves for $450. The heads themselves can be bought at the local bone yards for ~$50-$100.

Champions are Champions.. they get like 1200 for a set.

As far as the boneyard ones, well if numbers matter.. then the boneyard route wont do. You wont find 6702's at a boneyard. yet the 7515's are plentiful.

Plus the bigger valves, machining down the guides, surfacing, CC'ing the combustion chambers, and doing the work.. so it works... 450 would be a steal.

Price Ferrea valves lately :D

As far as your question, if the heads need absolutely nothing, have the larger stainless valves, retainers, springs, keepers, etc..... I would say approx 7-900. And you will need to get the spring heights done on them. So that costs a little.

Hello guys!

The scrapyard 515's are fine!

I got a set of full ported, shimsed, flowed, biggest swirvl stainless valves, new springs, cleaned, machined down, for..... hmmmm, let me see, was it $600? Price also incl. the heads from the scrapyard.

I have forgot the flow numbers but they where very, very, very good! Actually; the head guy had never seen such flow numbers on these heads since nobody had ordered them earlier with the biggest valves.

Pic's on them:

These heads where offered here earlier, i think he could fix many sets of them.

Correction; I could be wrong on the offer here, my memory is very bad..... it could also have been on the TTA-maillist.
